Layered Surface Acoustic Wave Hydrogen Sensor Based on Polyethylaniline Nanofibers

چکیده
Here we report on a layered Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) gas sensor featuring polyethylaniline nanofibers as the active layer. A rapidly-mixed reaction was employed to synthesize polyethylaniline nanofibers. The product was deposited on a microfabricated ZnO/36° YX LiTaO3 SAW transducer. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis) were utilized to characterize the nanomaterials. The novel sensor was tested towards different concentrations of hydrogen at room temperature. It was observed that the sensor maintained a stable baseline with good repeatability. Hence, the sensor is expected to be potentially attractive for industrial applications.

A zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorod based surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensor has been developed and investigated towards hydrogen (H2) gas. The ZnO nanorods were deposited onto a layered ZnO/64° YX LiNbO3 substrate using a liquid solution method. Micro-characterization results revealed that the diameters of ZnO nanorods are around 100 and 40 nm on LiNbO3 and Au (metallization for electrodes), respective...
متن کاملSurface acoustic wave hydrogen gas sensor based on layered structure of palladium/metal-free phthalocyanine
A layered sensor structure of metal-free phthalocyanine H2Pc (∼160 nm) with a very thin film of palladium (Pd∼20 nm) on the top, has been studied for hydrogen gas-sensing application at relatively low temperatures of about 30◦C and about 40◦C. The layered structure was obtained by vacuum deposition (first the phthalocyanine Pc and than the Pd film) onto a LiNbO3Ycut Z-propagating substrate, mak...
